According to a report by Reuters, on Tuesday, President Donald Trump was set to deliver his State of the Union Address challenging Democrats to approve funding for a US/Mexico border wall,
however he stopped short of declaring a national emergency over the issue.
Reuters reports that millions of Americans were expected to watch the address on television,
however the speech was delayed for a week as a result of the 35-day partial government shutdown, which ended on Jan. 25.
The president’s speech will reportedly offer an olive branch to opponents, targeting areas he sees for potential bipartisan agreement,
including infrastructure improvements, lowering prescription drug costs and healthcare.
